Dare County EMS hosts open houses this Wednesday

To celebrate EMS week and demonstrate their service to the community, Dare County EMS will host open houses to display equipment, offer tours of facilities, perform blood pressure checks, and provide educational programs.

Summer speed limit changes made along parts of N.C. 12

NCDOT crews were out Tuesday for the traditional May 15 changing of the speed limit signs from Corolla to Frisco. Speeds drop from 45 to 35 mph each summer to account for more vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

New Bonnett Street bath house in Nags Head officially open

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Wednesday to celebrate completion of the $429,000 new bath house and renovations to amenities at the beach access in Nags Head. The access reopened to the public last week.

Body of 4-year-old Wesley Belisle recovered at Carova Beach

The remains of Wesley Belisle were located Monday morning on Carova Beach. The boy was walking with his mother on the beach in Kitty Hawk when a wave caught them by surprise, knocked them down and dragged the boy into the ocean.
