Manteo rolls 55-26, Currituck also wins

The red-hot Manteo Redskins captured their first-round state high school football championship playoff game with a convincing 55-26 home victory over the Riverside Knights on Thursday, Nov. 14.  That improved Manteo’s overall season record to a sparkling 10-2. With that win, the No. 6 seed Manteo squad will face off against No. 3 seed Granville Central next Friday.

Another area football team, the Currituck Knights, also advanced in the playoffs with a 34-27 home win over the St. Paul Bulldogs on Nov 14. The No. 5 seed Knights will play next week against the winner of the South Granville game versus North Lenoir.
