NWS says OBX beaches to be battered

By on October 10, 2019

Rough surf and dangerous rip currents are ongoing, and will continue into the weekend. Significant beach erosion and dune overwash is increasingly likely as tide levels increase tonight into Saturday, with roadways and properties adjacent to the beach potentially experiencing inundation for several high tide cycles in a row. Beaches north of Cape Hatteras are the most likely to have issues.
