Amateur Radio Beginners Class

By on August 31, 2019

The Outer Banks Repeater Association will again present an entry level class for Amateur Radio this fall at the Dare County Emergency Operation Center. The class will be on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 9:00 PM, beginning on September 18, 2019 and be held each Wednesday night with License testing on November 6th.

OBRA has built into the schedule an extra week or two in case the EOC is activated and unavailable to us. If there is no activation of the EOC they will use the extra time for a supplemental class about how to use equipment. The class is free, but we encourage everyone to purchase a Technician License Manual written by Gordon West and to do practice tests online.

This class is open to all, and we hope you will share this information with anyone you think may be interested. If interested and/or would like further information, please feel free to contact Jim Bailey at n4act@earthlink.net. We would like to know who plans to take the class, so please ask all interested to let us know they plan to participate.

OBRA looks forward to hearing from a lot of prospective Hams.
