Currituck Sheriff’s office offering Women’s Self Defense course

The Currituck Sheriff’s Office will be offering the first phase of their Women’s Self Defense (WSD) course (all stand up and mindset driven) on Saturday, September 14th at 9am. Located at the Currituck County Cooperative Extension Center (120 Community Way, Barco, NC 27917). The phase 1 course/seminar will last approximately 3 hours (may extend depending on progress of the participants). The WSD course has been broken down into three phases.

Phase 1 consist of awareness/mindset and stand- up defense. Phase 2 consist of a review of phase 1 and multiple escapes from a standing position. Phase 3 consist of a combination of all the training from phase 1 and 2 and will progress into ground defense.
