Update: Power restored

By on August 19, 2019

A Dominion Energy spokesperson says this morning’s power outage that once affected about 9,000 local customers has been resolved and power fully restored. The cause of the outage is still under investigation.
Update: Dominion crews have determined the culprit in the widespread outage this morning. A snake had gotten into an insulator, which caused the outage of a transmission line that feeds into the Colington substation.
