(Cape Hatteras National Seashore)

Cape Hatteras National Seashore  These annual showers happen when Earth, during its revolution around the sun, passes through the dust trails of comets. Some of these meteors are no bigger than a bit of dust and burn up pretty quickly thanks to the atmosphere. But when they burn up, it looks pretty stellar!!

To see them, find the darkest sky with a big horizon away from any light pollution. Bring your patience as it might take some time before you can see a meteor. With Cape Hatteras’ dark skies, you can walk to the beach, lay on a blanket and enjoy an original light show.  #ParkSkies#HalfTheParkIsAfterDark
