One injured after van with 9 people and combine collide

A van carrying nine people and a combine collided in Moyock Thursday, sending one person to the hospital with serious injuries.

The crash happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of N.C. 168, according to a statement from Currituck Fire and EMS Chief Ralph Melton.

Nightingale Air Ambulance flew the driver of the van to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment of major facial injuries.

The State Highway Patrol is investigating.
