Darrell Keith Gibbs of Wanchese, March 9

Capt. Darrell Keith Gibbs, a lifelong commercial fisherman, passed away at his home in Wanchese, NC on Saturday March 9, 2019. He was 60. In addition to his parents, Roy Gilbert and Matilda Ann Gibbs, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debi Dile Gibbs in 2014.

Capt. Gibbs is survived by two children, Issac Blain Gibbs, 31, and Molly Ann Gibbs, 28; two grandchildren, Brennyn Miles Gibbs, 7, and Layla Sheree Gibbs, 5; three sisters, Sherleen Gibbs Johnson of Columbia, SC, Betty Lou Gibbs of Manteo, NC, and Donna Gibbs Thomas of Wanchese, NC; and one brother, Gilbert Bruce Gibbs of Morehead City, NC.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Gallop Funeral Chapel in Nags Head.

In lieu of flowers, donations toward the funeral expenses can be made directly to Gallop Funeral Services at 252-449-8695.
