Manteo is seeking vendors for 2019 Farmers Market

By on February 20, 2019

The Town of Manteo’s special events committee is soliciting vendors to apply for the upcoming season of the Farmers Market.

The 2019 Farmers Market will be held on the waterfront at Creef Park on Fernando Street in downtown Manteo.

For the 2019 season, which begins May 11 and runs through Oct. 5, the Farmers Market will take place every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

This year marks the 14th year for the popular market, which features fresh produce and locally crafted items.

Applications for vendors are available at Manteo Town Hall, at 407 Budleigh Street, or online at townofmanteo.com. Click on the link for forms and fees, and then go to the special events link for the Manteo Farmers Market 2019 registration packet.

The deadline to apply is April 1.

Based on survey results from last year, this year’s market anticipates having several changes, said manager of the Farmers Market Tim Teeple.

To encourage more fresh produce, up to five vendors who sell produce exclusively and agree to attend the full season with no more than three absences will have the $130 annual fee waived.

Also, vendors selling perishables, including produce and baked goods, will be given covered space at nearby Magnolia Market on rainy days.

For more information, contact Tim Teeple at 252-305-4640 or farmersmarket@townofmanteo.com.
