Crews from the U.S. Coast Guard Oregon Inlet Station helped free a vessel that had run aground on a shoal Tuesday evening.

The station received a call at 6:14 p.m. about the the 28-foot aluminum boat aground near the end of the Walter Slough channel with three people on board.

“Luckily, this channel is located right outside of our station so we launched our 24536 and were able to promptly assist the vessel,” the Coast Guard said in a Facebook post.

Once on scene, the crew passed a tow line over to the vessel and successfully removed it from the shoal.

“This environment can be challenging during the night and in times of reduced visibility, so we were happy to provide assistance to those in need. Bravo Zulu team on a job well done!” the Facebook post said.
