No one was injured when fire ripped through a house on South Memorial Avenue in Nags Head early Saturday.

Fire crews were called to the blaze at 6:31 a.m., arriving to find the residents were able to escape without injury, Nags Head officials said in a news release.

Photos and video from the scene just north of Jockey’s Ridge show heavy fire and smoke.

The fire was brought under control before high winds could spread the flames to neighboring houses. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

The house is just north of Jockey’s Ridge. (Voice)
