Five years after being first proposed, a new beach access at the former Coast Guard station in Buxton will be discussed in a meeting planned for Wednesday by the National Park Service.
The 50-vehicle lot proposed for the end of Old Lighthouse Road will include a handicap-accessible boardwalk and is one of 29 projects planned in Cape Hatteras National Seashore back in 2013.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. at the Fessenden Center Annex Building, 47017 Buxton Back Road in Buxton.
Cape Hatteras National Seashore Superintendent David Hallac and other National Park Service staff will be available to answer questions.
