Grace Gray Jennette of Buxton, Oct. 12

Grace Gray Jennette, 97, of Buxton, NC died Friday, October 12, 2018, at her home.

A native of Avon, she was born April 27, 1921, to the late Annie Gray Midgett and Elmore Gray. Grace was the former owner and operator of the Falcon Motel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Jennette; her step-father, Warren Midgett; and a number of brothers and sisters.

Grace is survived by two daughters, Teresa Deaton and Joan Robinson (Ray) all of Buxton; nine grandchildren, Isaac Deaton (Nancy), Joshua Deaton (Niky), Amber Finley (Johnny), Philip Adams, Lisa Mattingly (Rob), Ray Robinson, Jr., Lisa Stowe, Lance Jennette and Darrel Jennette, Jr.; eleven great-grandchildren, Zoe Robinson, Zachary, Brittany and Katelyn Mattingly, Alden, Miles, Lily and Joshua Deaton, Isaac Adams, and Caston and Callie Finley; twelve great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Milly Burrus of Buxton, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Lighthouse Assembly of God with Rev. David Daniels officiating. Private burial will take place at the Jennette family cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Monday evening at the church from 7:00 until 9:00 pm and immediately following the funeral at the Family Life Center for a reception.
