UPDATED: Dare schools closed, Currituck on three-hour delay

Because of flooding overnight, Dare County Schools are closed today. Currituck public schools will open on a three-hour delay.

College of The Albemarle’s Dare County campuses are also closed.

Dare County offices will be opening at 11 a.m. The Dare County Clerk of Courts will open at 11 a.m. today. Dare County District Court schedule will begin at 11 a.m.

There will be no residential trash collection in Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon today due to water on roadways. Commercial pickup will occur as planned contingent on water in the roadways.

JP Knapp Early College has a scheduled workday tomorrow so there is no school for students.

Currituck County High School will open on a three-hour delay and students will remain in school until 3:10 p.m. instead of Friday’s normal early-release schedule.

All elementary and middle schools will operate on a three-hour delay. Breakfast won’t be served.
