Gregg Sutton Lewis of Currituck, July 11

By on July 12, 2018

Gregg Sutton Lewis passed away peacefully at his home on Bells Island on Wednesday, July 11, 2018.

Gregg was a resident of Currituck County, NC since 1983. He was an active member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Currituck.

He is survived by his dog, Conner; his parents; Robert W. and Elizabeth S. Lewis; brother Robert “Chip” Lewis and wife Roxanne; William D. Sherman; and his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert D. and Mary Lewis, and Anna S. Sherman.

Gregg touched many lives. He was well known for his loving nature and happy spirit. He fought a very long battle with diabetes but he never gave up.

He kept his positive attitude and his deep faith in God every step of the way.

To say he will be missed would be an understatement. He would demand we smile through these storms. It was not in his nature to be sad. He will live on in all of us.

“God speed to you, Gregg. We will miss you, but we won’t say goodbye – we will see you in a while.” Love you, buddy.

A service will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 200 S. McMorrine Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909 with Bishop David Bane officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 2864 Caratoke Highway, Currituck, NC 27929. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Lewis family.
