Dare commissioners recognize FFHS state champions

The Dare County Board of Commissioners recently recognized and celebrated the tremendous victory of the First Flight Women’s Soccer Team, winners of the state championship.

The team is now part of the school’s legacy and joins the 2008 Women’s Team and the 2016 Men’s Team in bringing home a state championship.

Chairman Woodard congratulated each player, their parents and saluted Head Coach Juan Ramirez, who has done a tremendous job developing and guiding student athletes.

In addition to members of the women’s soccer team, Woodard also recognized Alex Rodman, 2A State Champ in track for the 1600 meter indoor, and Jeremiah Derby, 2A state wrestling champ in the 126 lb. weight class.
