Dare County Library’s Summer Reading Program begins July 11

By on July 8, 2018

The Dare County Library’s Summer Reading Program kicks off Wednesday, July 11 with a special performance by Krendl the Magician at all three library locations.

The Summer Reading Program at the Dare County Libraries is free, flexible and fun, encourages reading and offers a variety of fun performances and activities for children of all ages.

The Summer Reading Program is planned to promote participation in weekly programs scheduled at every library location, as well as for individual participation on their own time.

Children may stop by a Dare County Library location any time it is open to report and record their reading achievement.

Preschool age children are invited to enroll in a special Summer Reading Program just for them.

Due to the generosity of various local businesses there are many opportunities for participating children to win wonderful prizes.

Additionally all participating children in grades K and up are entered into a drawing to win a spectacular grand prize at each library location.

The more reading a child does, the more chances they have to win the grand prize.

With all of the programs scheduled, the best way to keep track of the “LIBRARIES ROCK!” Summer Reading Program is to head to your local Dare County Library location and pick up a calendar of events, or check out the calendars online at www.darenc.com/library.
