The final numbers have been tallied, and the Nags Head Links Ladies 2018 Driving Fore the Cure golf tournament was a rousing success.

The tourney was held June 12 at the Nags Head Links course located in The Village at Nags Head.

In a press release issued July 5, the group notes the 2018 event was the best ever.

“We thank our 132 women players, 60 men and women volunteers, hundreds of sponsors, and Nags Head Golf Links staff, we hit it out of the park at 2018 Driving Fore the Cure!

“This year we will donate $44,488.52 to the Breast Cancer initiatives at The Outer Banks Hospital and The Outer Banks Relief Foundation! This is a 28% increase over what we raised last year,” according to the group.

Since 2013, the first year the committee ran the tournament, $196,282 have been raised and all the funds raised and donated have remained in the local community.
