Each year The Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® (OBAR) hosts a golf tournament benefiting OBAR’s Scholarship and Disaster Relief Funds.

OBAR recently held its 29th Annual Golf Tournament at the Kilmarlic Golf Club, marking the 10th anniversary partnering with Director of Golf Bryan Sullivan.

“I love hosting this tournament because it gives kids in this community a chance to reach their dreams and goals.  Plus, it is great to work with the OBAR staff and Board,” Sullivan said.

Teams participating included REALTOR® offices, mortgage companies, insurance companies and more.  The winning team was Weatherly Insurance with a score of 55 and included Scott Weatherly, Jaime Weatherly, Carl Payne, and Dustin DeFeo.

OBAR also recognizes the REALTOR® team that has the lowest score by awarding them the Heritage Cup Trophy.  This year’s winning REALTOR® team with a score of 58 was Nicholas Cianfrini, Eddie Frey, David Winslow, and Bobby Cooper from Carolina Designs.

A highlight of this year’s tournament was the addition of 2017 International Long Drive Challenge (ILDC) Team Champion Jacob (Jesus of Golf) Golliday.

Golliday, a First Flight High School graduate, helped raise funds for the event while wowing participants with his long-drive skills. Tournament Chair Kathie Nesbitt, Wells Fargo Mortgage, shared, “We were very honored to have Jacob Golliday be a part of this year’s tournament.

For a donation, golfers could use Jacob’s drive on the 18th tee, and boy could he drive!  Teams on the 17th fairway could hear the club hit the ball long before they got to the tee box.”

The tournament raised almost $14,000 and the Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® thanks the Golf Committee and all attendees who donated their time, energy and money to ensure the event’s success.  A special thank you to the Gold Team at GR Little Agency for sponsoring the beverage cart, Greg White Plumbing for sponsoring the “Moment of Relief”, Action Plumbing for sponsoring the “Big Hole”, OBX Chevy for donating a car for the “Hole in One” opportunity on the 17th hole, and to the many local businesses who supported the event.

Proceeds of the tournament are split equally between OBAR’s Scholarship and Disaster Relief funds.

In partnership with the Outer Banks Community Foundation, both funds are available to residents of Dare County and are not limited to OBAR REALTOR® members.  For more information please visit or
