Forty entrants took part in the 14th annual Town of Duck Fourth of July Parade on Wednesday, with the Bayberry Beachbillies, Caffey’s Inlet Hamlet, The Roadside Bar & Grill and Castaways Adrift picking up awards.
Judges Sharon Hetu, Jean Smith, and John Marshall rated the participants in four categories.
Mayor’s Award: Bayberry Beachbillies
Best Community Entry: Caffey’s Inlet Hamlet
Best Local Business Award: The Roadside Bar & Grill
Spirit Award: Castaways Adrift
Mayor Don Kingston announced the award winners at the Community Celebration following the parade at Duck Town Park.
The celebration featured music by Just Playn’ Dixieland, cold refreshments, and watermelon slices donated by Green Acres Farm Market. The town thanks all participants, visitors, residents, and volunteers for a great Fourth of July event.
