C. Marc Creecy, formerly of Duck, May 19

By on June 11, 2018

C. Marc Creecy passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2019, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

This world has lost a true Renaissance man; a lover of knowledge of all sorts; a talented artisan; a genuine humanitarian; an insightful conversationalist and skilled debater; a connoisseur of film, TV and music; a great and generous-hearted humorist; a lover of golf; a billiards sharpshooter (Never listen to your opponent!”); a relentless garage sale harvester; and an occasional curmudgeon!

Marc is survived by his mother, June Robbins, brother, David Creecy (Jackie), sisters Teri Kuklica (Jeff), Cathy Huffman (Lindy), stepsister Patsy Godwin. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, all of whom he loved immensely; and his guardian angel, Denise.

Marc graduated from Cox High School, Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 1974. He attended St Mary’s College in Maryland, leaving to pursue his talents in carpentry on the Outer Banks, where he worked and resided for over 30 years, mostly in Duck, returning to Virginia Beach in 2007.

Marc enriched everyone he knew, and we will miss his wisdom, advice and spirit. He chose to donate his body to medical science, so that others might learn and benefit from the lung disease (pulmonary fibrosis, end stage COPD) that plagued his earthly body.

A memorial service for Marc will be held on June 13, at 1pm, Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, 1871 N. Great Neck Road, Va. Beach. A celebration of his life will immediately follow in the church social hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marc’s name may be made to the SPCA, Salvation Army or the charity of your choice.
