Nags Head Hammocks opens new Corolla location

By on May 4, 2018

Nags Head Hammocks officially opened the doors to their new Corolla location on Tuesday April 3.

Larger exterior space for displays and guest relaxation, much more natural light from the abundance of windows overlooking the shopping center’s pond, and modern interior fixtures are what Nags Head Hammocks customers can look for when they experience the new space.

“We are so excited to be settling into this new, beautiful and bright space. The old Corolla store was a home for us for a long time, but with our increase in sales and traffic, we outgrew it and needed a bigger space,” said General Manager Emily Kinnear Heikens.

Guests can witness see weavers crafting their living art and encouraging customers to try their own hands at an age-old coastal Carolinas tradition at all three of the Nags Head Hammocks locations. Prior to the move of the Corolla store, the demos were limited to the Kill Devil Hills and Duck locations.

Nags Head Hammocks opened its first store in 1974 in a converted cottage at about milepost 10.5 on the old beach road in Nags Head.

The space eventually became too small for all the business, and it moved into Kill Devil Hills.

I hope their customer service has improved. My purchase at the old Avon store was awful. Parts missing, terrible follow up.

Where did it move to? The article failed to mention that minor detail.
