A Dare County Impact Unit was following up on complaints of drug-related activities near a preschool, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

While attempting to stop the vehicle on a traffic violation near Burnside Road and Scarborough Street, the vehicle backed into the patrol car and the driver ran.
