Three teenagers from Currituck County were hospitalized with serious injuries after a two vehicle crash on U.S. 158 Sunday afternoon in Harbinger.

The wreck happened in the 8600 block of Caratoke Highway around 12:30 p.m., according to Trooper Brady White with the N.C. Highway Patrol.

A 2013 Subaru driven by a 17-year-old female pulled out of Fordham Drive and into the path of an eastbound 2017 Ford pickup driven by a 36-year-old man from Ohio, White said.

After the collision the Subaru flipped over, landing on its roof, before coming to rest in the westbound lanes.

The driver of the Subaru, along with an 18-year-old male in the front passenger seat and a 16-year-old male sitting in the rear, were transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

White said there were no extenuating circumstances that may have caused the wreck, but charges are pending.
