Kay Norman White of Kitty Hawk, Jan. 8

Kay Norman White, 80, of Kitty Hawk passed away at his home January 8, 2018. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Barry White and by two siblings.

Kay was born in King, NC and graduated from Maury High School in Norfolk in 1956. He went on to work with the FBI in Washington, DC for five years. Later, Kay joined the HRT Bus Company of Norfolk, VA where he worked for 36 years.

Retirement brought Kay and his wife to Kitty Hawk where he enjoyed fishing at Kitty Hawk Pier, traveling, camping, and living the “Snow Bird” life in the Florida Keys.


Kay’s survivors include his wife, Ann Barrett White of the Kitty Hawk residence; his son Jeffrey White of Moyock, NC; his daughter, Christie White McGowan (David) of Yorktown, VA; two grandchildren, Nicole London and Adam White; two great-grandchildren Zachary London and Austin London; and several cousins back home in King, NC.

Friends and family may gather at the Gallop Memorial Chapel Nags Head (MP 15.5) Saturday January13, 2018 from1 to 3 pm. Memorial donations are welcome at the Dare County SPCA in lieu of flowers.
