A single vehicle crash late Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 158 in Kitty Hawk cut power to about one thousand Dominion Power customers for several hours.
Kitty Hawk Police Chief Joel Johnson said the driver of the vehicle had a medical emergency, which led to the collision with a Dominion Power service box on the ground near Duck Woods Drive.
Johnson said the driver was taken to The Outer Banks Hospital for treatment, while a passenger was not hurt. Power was restored around 6 p.m.
Rep. Beverly Boswell has received the backing from a pair of the political action committees for organizations supporting the Second Amendment for her re-election bid in the N.C. House District 6 Republican Primary.
N.C. House District 6 Republican candidate Bobby Hanig has picked up the endorsement of the Outer Banks Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, and touted his high rating from a statewide group that supports the Second Amendment.
Rep. Steinburg, a Republican, was given a grade of “A-” by the NRA’s political action committee, while his N.C. Senate District 1 primary opponent, Clark Twiddy, and Democratic candidate D. Cole Phelps, were not graded.
