A man from Manteo was arrested in connection with an incident involving shots being fired in a Roanoke Island neighborhood over the weekend.
Authorities responded to a 911 call Saturday around 9:30 p.m. on Amanda Street, where one person had allegedly fired a gun at two others. No injuries were reported.
The suspect fled the scene, and an extensive search by multiple agencies was initiated. He was eventually located in Kill Devil Hills and taken into custody Sunday afternoon without incident.
Trystan Robert Wiley Beacham, 22, of Manteo, was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault by pointing a gun and discharge of a firearm in a prohibited location.
Beacham was booked into the Dare County Detention Center. Bond was set at $20,000.
