I’m sure he will do a fine job however, it is a shame the Town couldn’t find someone already with the fire department or at least a Dare County resident to fill that position.

The town had a 15 year paid Captain apply and because of small town politics was passed over only to then be asked to be interim chief for 2 months before the new guy from VA could retire and get here. The town screwed up, there’s no one that knows that fire department, knows Kitty Hawk more than that 15 year veteran and everyone from other fire department officers to local citizens that know this Captain knows he was the best person for the job and not some big city Captain from Virginia.
