Sassagrass concert headlines Veterans Week, Marathon

Sassagrass will will perform at Pamlico Jack’s.

One of the busiest weeks in the shoulder season is coming up, as people from all over the country travel to the beach for the fifth annual Outer Banks Veterans Week and the 12th annual Outer Banks Marathon.

Outer Banks Sporting Events and the Dare County Arts Council will host the free concert at Pamlico Jack’s.

“Outer Banks Sporting Events is elated to partner with Dare County Arts Council to create lasting change in our global community through veterans programs and healthy lifestyles,” said Ray Robinson, executive director of Outer Banks Sporting Events.


The concert will support local veterans art programs and organizations. Guests may make donations to the local Outer Banks VFW Post 10950 during the event.

The Sassagrass concert at Pamlico Jack’s is one of the marquee events during Outer Banks Veterans Week. A complete directory of ceremonies and special events for veterans and active duty service members, along with Outer Banks Marathon events open to the public, may be found at Dare Arts/Veterans.

For the fifth consecutive year, Dare County Arts Council, Dare County Veterans Advisory Council and the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau have partnered to promote Outer Banks Veterans Week. Midgett Insurance Agency, the Town of Manteo and Bearded Face Productions are sponsors for the event.


Presented by TowneBank, Outer Banks Marathon events will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 10-12.
