All Saints Episcopal Church to celebrate renovated pipe organ

By on September 14, 2017

When the church was built in 2000, All Saints Church was blessed to be entrusted with a Moller pipe organ provided by several generous founding members of the church.

The instrument was built in 1948 and relocated from a church in Concord, NC.

A capital campaign launched in the fall of 2015 led to a contract with the Quimby Pipe Organ Co. of Warrensburg, MO, to expand the nine ranks of enclosed pipes to include an independent, unenclosed great division, and several new color stops to make an excellent yet modest instrument of 18 ranks of pipes.

On Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. All Saints will celebrate the Blessing of this newly enhanced organ followed by a Choral Evensong sung by the church choir.

The Evensong will include works by John Ferguson, Charles Villiers Stanford, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Charles Wood, and Egil Hovland.

The public is invited to participate in this joyful event in our church’s history.

A reception will follow.

All Saints Episcopal Church is located at 40 Pintail Trail, Southern Shores, NC.
