John “Jack” Finn of Manteo, Sept. 9

John “Jack” Finn, 91, of Manteo, NC died Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Spring Arbor of The Outer Banks. Born in Hempstead Nassau, New York on September 15, 1925, he was the son of the late Jennie Nora Smith and Leo John Finn.

Jack served his country honorably in the United States Coast Guard retiring as Chief Boatswain’s Mate.

Devoted husband, father, and grandpa, Jack is survived by his daughter, Jenny Gray Jones and husband, Talmadge of Manteo; two grandchildren, Jennifer Gaimel and husband, Mark and Mac Gray and wife, Megan; and four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Daniels and husband, Bailey, Emily Gaimel, Ivy Gray, and Jack Gray.


Along with his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Alma M. Finn; second wife, Rose Bahl Finn; and eight brothers and sisters.

A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Austin Cemetery with Rev. Jerald Craddock officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives at the home, 112 Meekins Drive, Manteo, NC 27954.
