Isaac King Hooper of Coinjock, Aug. 22

Isaac King Hooper, Sr., 90, of 917 Waterlily Road, Coinjock, NC died Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Sentara Barco Nursing Center.

A native of Dare County, he was born February 4, 1927 in Avon to the late Ebbie Scarborough Hooper and Marie O’Neal Hooper and was the husband of Norma Faye Hooper. He served in the United States Coast Guard and after retirement worked in the civil service as a helicopter mechanic. He was an honorary member of the Coinjock Ruritan Club and a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church.

He is survived by five sons, Isaac K. Hooper, Jr. (Vivian) of Gilbert, AZ, Carl Hooper, Elizabeth City, NC, Daily G. Hooper, Phoenix, AZ, Christopher Hooper, Waterlily, NC, and Jonathan Hooper (Becci) of Jacksonville, NC; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Midgett of Waves, NC. He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Whitehead; and three brothers, Daily E. Hooper, Ebbie Hooper and Horace Hooper.


A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at Hampton Cemetery with Rodney Sawyer officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence.
