Recount set in disputed Elizabeth City runoff

Pasquotank elections officials today will recount ballots from last week’s run-off for a seat on the Elizabeth City Council. Michael Brooks finished three votes behind Dennis Stallings in the run-off, and has also filed a protest in the election. Georgia official named Camden manager

Camden has a new county manager. Commissioners voted Wednesday to hire Michael Renshaw, currently the city manager of Grantville, Ga. Renshaw will begin his duties in Camden on Dec. 5. He replaces Randall Woodruff, who left over the summer to become Beaufort County’s manager.

Permanent fix for Hatteras power under way

Permanent structures to run the high voltage power line over the Mid-Pea Island Inlet are under construction.
