Drug arrests reported on Hatteras, in Kitty Hawk

Continuing investigations and traffic stops have led to drug arrests on Hatteras Island and in Kitty Hawk.

Two people were arrested Aug. 23 after a Dare County Sheriff’s Office dog checked a vehicle that had been stopped by a National Park Service ranger south of Oregon Inlet, a statement from the Dare County Sheriff’s Office said.

Arrested was Michael Dale Quidley Jr., 27, of Buxton on charges of driving while impaired, conspiring to sell or deliver a schedule II controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling place or vehicle to keep a controlled substance.

He was jailed in the Dare County Detention Center in lieu of $75,000 bond.

Cory Stowe Sisler, 26, of Hatteras was charged with conspiring to sell or deliver a schedule II controlled substance, manufacturing a schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a schedule II controlled substance, aiding and abetting driving while impaired and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released on $5,000 bond.

As part of a separate, continuing investigation on Hatteras Island, two arrests were made Aug. 2 and 5, the sheriff’s office reported.

• Elke Marie Schwartz, 36, of Frisco on a charge of conspiring to sell or deliver a schedule II controlled substance. She was released on $1,000 unsecured bond.

• Robert Gray Schwartz Jr., 40, of Frisco on a charge of conspiring to sell or deliver a schedule II controlled substance. He was released on $2,500 unsecured bond.

In Kitty Hawk Aug. 21, William J. Sanders of Kill Devil Hills was charged with several offenses after he was pulled over and his vehicle was searched, according to Police Chief Joel Johnson.

Sanders was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule IV controlled substances, maintaining a vehicle for sale and delivery of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
