$10,000 lottery ticket purchased in Nags Head

NC-Mega-MillionsThe Outer Banks has had two major lottery winners in the span of a week.

Someone who purchased a ticket at the 7-Eleven at Whalebone Junction in Nags Head won $10,000 in the Aug. 13 Mega Millions drawing.

The ticket was one of 27 across the country that matched 4 white balls and the yellow Megaball and beat odds of 1 in 689,065.

Ocracoke resident Valerie Mason won $10,000 in the Aug. 6 Powerball drawing.

Carol Ranno of Chesapeake bought a ticket at Border Station in Moyock for the Aug. 9 Mega Millions game that won $10,000.
