By Rob Morris on June 29, 2013Contractors are putting the final touches on Phase II of the Kill Devil Hills multi-use path along Canal Drive.
Barnhill Contracting started the project March 4, extending the 10-foot-wide path to Nixonton Drive.
Started in 2008, the path starts at the Kitty Hawk line.
The latest phase, which included some drainage and street improvements, ended up costing $605,262. The original contract was for $586,840.
Left to be done are seeding, crosswalks and other pavement markings and cleanup.
Expect periods of one-way traffic with flaggers on northbound Bay Drive from Avalon Drive to the Bickett Street canal.
