Two arrested after theft of jewelry from R.I. home

A jewelry theft from a Roanoke Island home has led to the arrest of two people on multiple charges.

A significant number of rings and other jewelry were reported to have been taken from the house on Mother Vineyard Road on April 28, a statement from the Dare County Sheriff ‘s Office said.

A subsequent investigation led to these arrests May 4:

Courtney Elizabeth Sadler, 19, of Mother Vineyard Road, Roanoke Island, on charges of conspiracy to commit felony larceny, resist/obstruct public officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Issac Stewart Moore, 20, of Arbor Drive, Roanoke Island, on charges of conspiracy to commit felony larceny, resist/obstruct public officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were jailed in the Dare County Detention Center under $7,000 bond.

Chief Deputy Steve Hoggard said none of the jewelry had been recovered as of Wednesday.
