For the second time in three years, the First Flight Seahawks boys and girls track teams have won the Albemarle Athletic Conference Middle School Championships.

The boys dominated at April 26 meet, while the girls squeaked out a nail-biter against seven other conference schools.

The boys were led by Jordan Austin and Devyn Dodson.

Austin set a conference and school record, recording 6 feet in the high jump. Dodson won the 1600 and 800 meter runs, tying the school record in the half mile at 2:19.

Alex Rodman also won both girls’ middle distance events, setting a conference and school record in the 800, at 2:35, while Kayla Carson won the high jump and long jump, overturning the five-year school record with a high jump of 5 feet.

Brealle White broke the discus school record with a toss of 70 feet 8 inches.
