Attempt to flip stolen jewelry leads to arrest

Jewelry a woman was trying to sell at a Kitty Hawk store last week turned out to have been stolen from a jewelry store in Manteo, according to police.

Investigators learned of the attempted sale while investigating the Manteo theft, a statement from the Dare County Sheriff’s Office said.

Further investigation revealed that it was the same jewelry stolen from the Manteo store.

Elizabeth Cullipher, 35, of Harbinger was charged with felony larceny on Wednesday and has been released from jail on $4,500 bond, the statement said.
