Planned power outage for Hatteras, Ocracoke

Electricity on both Hatteras and Ocracoke islands will be cut-off Wednesday evening, to allow for connection of a new substation in Buxton.

Cape Hatteras and Tideland electric cooperatives posted on their websites that the scheduled outage will take place Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 5:30 p.m., and last for up to 30 minutes.
