Dare schools seek input on webpage redesign
The Dare County Schools are planning a redesign of the school and district websites, and the opinions of users of and visitors to the district’s websites are essential in this process.
Each of the district and school webpages currently has a link to a brief, open survey.
The input from the survey will be instrumental in planning for the redesign which is hoped to better meet the needs of Dare County Schools students, parents, staff and those with interest in the district.
Carl Woody, Technology Director, devised the survey which can be accessed online at darecountyschoolsonline.com.

Is a redesign really needed? Spend what limited funds available on higher priority needs first.

I see a good project for High School Seniors in Advanced Computer courses to have a contest/senior project. At least that is what my class in High School did in West Virginia. The website was used for 5 years after we graduated.

School websites are how parents/students/teachers can easily connect. Every other school system in NE NC offers a system wide calendar, parent portal, and uniform access for each school. Being that our county gives our school systems $20,000,000 + a yr, (more money per student than any other county in NC)and spent over $150,000,000 in new schools, you would think that new websites would have been part of the massive upgrades that were done in the past 10 years. DCS main website has not changed in more than 5 years! Better late than never? What are they doing with all of that money?

DCS website hasn’t changed in 5 years? The buildings are older than that, they are at least 7 years old.
