By on October 3, 2012

The Dare Literacy Council recently received a $1,200 donation from Grace Lutheran Church By-The-Sea of Nags Head.

The donation was from the proceeds of the church’s annual Fish Fry in August.

With the donation, DLC will be able to purchase additional volunteer tutor and adult student materials for English-As-A-Second Language and GED (high school equivalency) classes.

DLC also plans to use the funds to develop new programs for adult learners of Dare and Currituck Counties.

The Dare Literacy Council offers free tutoring services for adults. Those adults who wish to improve their reading or math skills, learn English-As -A-Second Language or prepare for their GED test can take advantage of the skills of volunteer tutors by calling (252) 216-7773 or sending an e-mail to dareliteracy@gmail.com.
