R.I. man indicted on indecent liberty charges
A Dare County grand jury has indicted a Roanoke Island man on a dozen counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor.
On July 10, The Dare County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the Dare County Department of Social Services on a report of indecent liberties taken with two juveniles, according to a statement from the Dare County Sheriff’s Office.
After conducting interviews, investigator Kelly Lawson with the sheriff’s office turned her findings over to the District Attorney, who presented the case to the Dare County grand jury.
On Sept. 10, the grand jury returned an indictment on Charles Richard Brewer II, 51, of the 200 block of Toler Road on Roanoke Island, the statement said.
He was arrested Sept. 18 on 12 counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor and was being held in the Dare County Detention Center in lieu of $90,000 bond.
