White endorsed by state employees group

The State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC) has announced bipartisan endorsements for the upcoming general election in November.

The endorsements are made through SEANC’s Employees Political Action Committee (EMPAC), which is a member-led subsidiary.

SEANC announced 66 bipartisan endorsements in races for seats in the N.C. General Assembly.

State Sen. Stan White, a Democrat representing N.C. Senate District 1 in northeast North Carolina, received a favorable recommendation from EMPAC members at the district level.  Those recommendations were then confirmed by the statewide committee.

With 55,000 members, SEANC is the leading state employees association in the southeastern United States.  The mission of the organization is to protect and enhance the rights and benefits of present day and retired state employees.

“I am very honored and grateful to have the endorsement and confidence of the SEANC membership,” said White.  “SEANC represents hard working state employees and I salute them for their pride and dedication to serving the people of North Carolina.”

White has been in the N.C. Senate since January 2011.  He is seeking to retain the District 1 Senate seat in the November general election. Bill Cook of Chocowinity is the Republican candidate.

District 1 consists of the counties of Pasquotank, Gates, Perquimans, Camden, Currituck, Dare, Hyde and Beaufort.
