Democrats in Currituck can’t find a candidate
With a deadline of Noon Thursday looming, leaders of the Currituck Democratic Party are running out of time to find someone to run for the District 4 county commissioners seat.
John Flora III won the party’s nomination in May running unopposed, but weeks later announced he could not continue to run because he was moving out of District 4.
A number of candidates have been approached and declined, according to Becky Howard, who is leading the search for the Currituck Democratic Party Executive Committee.
“Nothing new to report,” Howard, the vice chairperson of the party in the Third Congressional District, said Tuesday morning.
Kevin McCord won a three-person race for the Republican nomination and will be unopposed on the ballot if no candidate is found by Thursday.
Current District 4 commissioner Owen Etheridge did not seek another term this year, after running in May for the GOP nomination for the N.C. House.

Well now! This is good news but hardly a surprise. Who in their right mind wants to be a democrat!

Where did you see him last? Maybe he’s hiding.
