Suspect in murder of Ohio woman is captured
Nathan Summerfield, 27, was arrested at a motel in Wadsworth, Ohio, about 30 minutes north of Ashland, according to the U.S. Marshal Service.
“Today Ashland County brought Nate Summerfield to justice,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott.
He is wanted in connection with the strangulation and stabbing death of Lynn Jackenheimer, whom Summerfield vacationed with in Salvo over the week of July 4 with her 13-year-old daughter and their 3-year-old son.
Jackenheimer was last heard from the night of July 3. Her body was found July 14 at the end of a cul-de-sac in Frisco.“Whatever we need to do we’re going to do to ensure that justice is brought for Lynn Jackenheimer, I can assure you of that,” said Ashland County Sheriff Wayne Risner.
During a news conference Wednesday morning in Ashland, authorities gave out few details, although they said he was unarmed and put up no resistance when he was arrested.
Investigators confirmed that his abandoned vehicle was located at a store parking lot in Barron County, Michigan near the Indiana state line on Aug. 8, and it had been at the same location for at least three weeks.
“If there is anyone who was helping Mr. Summerfield, they will be looking at possible federal charges of harboring (a fugitive),” Elliott said.
Summerfield now awaits extradition proceedings in Medina County, Ohio to return him to Dare County to face the murder charge.

I see that time and a beard have not improved his smug appearance. I’d have to bow out of jury duty for this one…I don’t think I have it in me to be impartial in this case.

Glad to see people are speaking freely and not censored. I feel so bad for this woman that she ever met this guy. Just a sad situation and no matter what happens to him, the family is hurt. At least, he won’t do it to anyone else now.

It is a tragedy what happened here all the way around. There is nothing good about this story. We, as a community, have lost a lot. I can’t tell you how sorrowful I have been by all this. There has been so much loss. And after having read all the sites, blogs, and comments…I believe that the loss is unbeknownst to even the closest family members. Arise from your stupor!
