Nags Head plans National Night Out Aug. 7

The 2012 National Night Out Against Crime event will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 7, beginning at 5:30 P.M. at the Ark Church located on W. Villa Dunes Drive. 

A lot of exciting changes have been made to this year’s event:

• Police K-9 demonstrations and display of equipment.
• Criminal Investigative demonstrations (lifting fingerprints, plaster castings of shoe/tire tracks) and display of equipment.
• Nags Head Police Emergency Response Team display of equipment.
• Child safety seat inspections.
• Nags Head police car on display.
• Nags Head fire T=truck on display.
• McGruff the Crime Dog.
• Scavenger hunt for the children.
• Children’s bounce house.

The following community groups/organizations will also participate:

• Outer Banks Hospital
• Dare County SPCA
• Outer Banks Public Safety Auxiliary
• Jockey’s Ridge State Park
• Hotline
• Walk Against Addiction
• Max Radio of the Carolinas will broadcast live.

Barbecue with all the trimmings will be served.
