Mariner’s Wharf Film Festival extends season

| July 31, 2012

Mariners’ Wharf Film Festival will conclude its regular season on Tuesday, July 31 at 8:30 pm with the 1933 pre-code comedy, Dinner at Eight.  That same night, Music on the Green will launch with Bobby Plough & Friends. The free concert will run from 6:00-8:00 pm.

The Festival takes place along the Elizabeth City waterfront near Cypress Creek Restaurant on Water Street.

Visitors can relive the drive-in movie experience — sans the car — with Elizabeth City’s beautiful waterfront at Mariners’ Wharf as the backdrop. Classic American films are shown on a large screen on nine consecutive Tuesdays at 8:30 PM from June 5th through July 31st during the regular season.

Due to all the stormy weather this summer, for the next several weeks, MWFF will follow Music on the Green with the following schedule. These showings had been cancelled due to inclement weather.

Tuesday, August 7         Rio Bravo
Tuesday, August 14       Casablanca
Tuesday, August 21       You Can’t Take It With You

Screening times are at 8:30 pm.
