The Dare County Sheriff’s Office says they are continuing their portion of the investigation into the murder of an Ohio woman earlier this month on Hatteras Island.

According to a news release issued Monday by Chief Deputy Steve Hoggard, the United States Marshal’s Service is heading up the search in Ohio for Nathan Summerfield.

He is wanted in connection with the death of Lynn Jackenheimer, whose body was discovered July 14 in Frisco.

Attempts to locate Summerfield have been unsuccessful as of Monday, according to Hoggard.

“Investigators from Dare County have been to the Ashland Ohio area to conduct interviews, collect evidence, and meet with Ashland County investigators to begin to prepare for a trial,” Hoggard said in the statement. “The cooperation from the Ohio authorities has been outstanding.”

Summerfield is believed to be somewhere in Ohio, and a reward is being offered for information that leads to his arrest.

A music video posted on Youtube includes a series of photos of Summerfield along with other details that are included on wanted posters and digital billboards across the country, including one on U.S. 158 north of Powells Point in southern Currituck County.
